Course Outline
This EEHA Course provides the knowledge and skills required to safely install, maintain, test, and inspect explosion-protected electrical equipment. Our instructors will cover all aspects of reporting, repairing, maintaining, and testing equipment in hazardous areas. This course provides the nationally recognised competencies that meet the requirements of AS/NZS 4761 Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA).

- 4Principles of Hazardous Area Classification (Zones, Groups, Temperature Class)
- 5Principles, procedures, and permits for entering a hazardous area
- 6Explosion protection principles, methods, and techniques
- 7Electrical installations design, selection, erection, and initial inspection of Ex equipment
- 8Ex equipment maintenance and testing
- 9Ex equipment inspections (Visual, Close and Detailed)
- 10Hazardous Area Verification Dossiers and record-keeping

One of the following is required to receive a Statement of Attainment for all units of competency:
Mode of Delivery
This course consists of blended learning with initial theory and required knowledge delivered online at the learner’s pace followed by a 4-day face to face simulated workshop/classroom learning to complete practical elements and final assessment.
Who Should Attend?
Any electrical workers, technicians, and engineers who are required to carry out installation, maintenance, and inspections of Ex Certified electrical equipment installed in or associated with a classified hazardous area.
Refresher Training
Industry recommendation and in accordance with AS/NZS 60079.14 and AS/NZS 2290.1, it is recommended EEHA refresher training be completed at intervals not exceeding 2 – 3 years.
